Moral Support Coming from South Africa
The following email just arrived on my desk from a colleague and friend from South Africa. He represents a partnership of Partners Worldwide, CRWRC, and the Family of Uniting Reformed Churches in South Africa. BADISA is an acronym of the ministry of Service and Witness. This is what he wrote...
"Hi all
Our prayers are with all of you that are going to participate in the Sea to Sea cycle tour. In the Cape, BADISA has set up a website where we want to show moral support to everyone taken part by challenging everybody that is exercising over the next 9 weeks to log their kilometers and help us log 500 000 and raise funds as well to combat poverty. Our 500 000 is approx 30% of the total distance the 200 odd cyclists are going to travel while crossing the USA.
This is also part of BADISA's 5th anniversary. So we have encouraged our programs all to arrange a local event to celebrate and connect. As our first communication went out to programs some time ago I have heard the stories of the elderly that are practicing on exercising bikes set up at the homes for the elderly. Cathy Carstens, a very well known cyclist in SA has promised her support of this effort. Please visit the site @ www.badisaxtremechallenge.org.za <http://www.badisaxtremechallenge.org.za/ ."
Kind regards,
Carl
