Day 8 Kennewick to Pendleton

According to the Communications people, the satallite dish is not behaving as they had hoped making it a bit difficult for the cyclists to update their blogs. Lou managed to send a very quick update this morning you can read below.

Monday. Sorry, I was unable to find internet connection since Friday. It is now 5:15 AM on Monday morning. Camp is already starting to break for the 70-mile day ahead.

Saturday I felt stronger than ever about bicycling ... of course I missed the Cascade Mountains. It is now sage brush country.

A new friend calls him and myself "the two Clydesdales and said I was convinced I was a Greyhound Bus as I turned into the entry ramp of the busy expressway.

All is well. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. Lou

Lou, I prayed today that you would be able to laugh. I prayed that you would be able to smile. I prayed that the heat would not take the joy out of your heart. Thanks for riding for those of us who couldn't.

    We love you!

  • Lou, thanks for the phone conversation this morning. We appreciate your prayers for Carol. As I read the Bible this morning, this verse jumped out as something to support you and your fellow travellers. Habakkuk 3:19 says, "The Sovereign Lord is my strength, he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to go on the heights."

  • Hi, Lou,

Thanks for doing this blog. It's a great way for friends and family to know what's going on with the Sea to Sea folks. We featured the Sea to Sea ride on the RCA website this week and have set up links to the five RCA folks on the ride who are blogging, one of which of course is you. (I know you're "technically" not RCA but you've been awarded that status as a result of your many years of working with us in RCA Global Mission!)

I look forward to joining the ride when you guys get to Grand Rapids! By then you'll be an old pro...and I'll just be old!

    Blessings,

    David Dethmers
