A day of rest ..............

Today we split up. Some of us were bused to Omaha and others bused to Lincoln, Nebraska. We had a wonderful service. The church is built on a prison ministry. The church is full of ex-cons. There were two adult baptisms in the morning, both men had been drug users, sellers, and in prison. Transformation is real and demonstrated in the lives of individuals. We were welcomed, enjoyed their hospitality, and enhanced their service in a small way.

When we came home (YMCA facilities in Fremont, NE) we discovered that some people had not gone to either planned service but walked across the street to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. It is an older congregation in a new facility. They opened their entire sanctuary to us this afternoon. Then they started to bring in the food. They have offered to let us sleep on the floor. The air conditioning feels like a bit of heaven. To top it off, the music is piped in. We now are linked into their internet system. One can never out perform the spirit moving.

I just walked into the gym again ...... more brownies and I was told there were some ladies in the church kitchen baking more. On the table there are grapes, peanuts, watermelon, cookies, bananas, popcorn, carrots, brownies, oranges, and apples and more to come. They had no idea before 9:00 A.M. this morning that Sea to Sea even existed. Just incredible!

  • Lou, I think of you every day, but especially today as I was riding around Reeds Lake and blew a tire. I carry a tube, but had no pump with me.... So, I got out my cell phone, called my personal sag wagonmaster, Clarence, who picked me up, took me to Starbucks where I drowned my sorrows in a nice cup of coffee. I'll bet you really feel sorry for me.

I hope you get some relief from the heat. Thanks again for riding for the cause. We had lunch today with Dick and Margaret Seinen who were visiting GR. Dick is following your progress.

    Take care my friend,
