One more century to go!

Today was the second century - 113 miles. Lou said the last 7 1/2 miles were TOUGH. Absolutely no energy left. He put his head down and just pedaled. He said if he had stopped it would have been all over. BUT....he made it. The weather was nice, actually cool which helped. They cycled through farm country - field after field.....corn, diary, poultry which is his kind of country.

Another cyclist came to his rescue when one of his seat springs broke. I won't tell you what he told me :) Somehow, this friend had an extra seat so he is back in business!

Tomorrow is ONLY 100 miles and the weather is suppose to be cooler than today. Lou said people were actually putting on jackets this evening. What a change from the 80, 90, and 100 degree weather that they have been battling. Tomorrow will also see them into another state as they cross the Iowa border into Madison, Wisconsin.

One more day and then they can rest on Sunday..........
